The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins

Book #1 of The Hunger Games Series

Genre: Science-Fiction Dystopian Novel

The Hunger Games is narrated by Katniss Everdeen, a 16-year-old girl who lives with her sister and mother in a futuristic nation called Panem, located in North America. Panem is a nation made of 13 districts, one was bombed and burnt to the ground. The Capitol, an advanced metropolis, holds an unfair rule over Panem. They host an annual competition for ages 12-18, called the Hunger Games, a fight to the death.

I read The Hunger Games and it was one of the best books I’ve ever read! It’s a unique, action-packed story that enthralls the reader. I fell in love with the characters at once, and I really recommend this book. There are three other books: Catching Fire, Mockingjay, and The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes.

Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins

Book #2 of The Hunger Games Series

Genre: Science-Fiction Dystopian Novel

It has been six months since Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark were crowned victors of the seventy-fourth Hunger Games. Life is not easy for 17-year-old Katniss after her experience in the arena. This year is also the seventy-fifth hunger games, the third quarter quell, and for every quarter quell there is a special twist…

Catching Fire might be my favorite book in the entire series. With the each plot twist, I kept wanting to read more. I highly recommend this book and it’s a good book for anyone who loves science-fiction. Happy Hunger Games!

Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins

Book #3 of The Hunger Games Series

Genre: Science-Fiction Dystopian Novel

Ever since the seventy-fifth hunger games, Katniss Everdeen has lived in the underground of District 13. Katniss struggles with the loss of her home in District 12 and the loss of Peeta, left behind and taken by the Capitol. When Katniss agrees to be the “Mockingjay” for the rebellion, she has the potential to lose everything she holds close…

Mockingjay was an exciting, action-packed story. Mockingjay is also the end of Katniss’s story. But no worries! The fourth book of the series, The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes has come out! It’s the story of the “evil” Coriolanus Snow. The links to the books are down below.
