Are you looking for an easy recipe that you can eat for breakfast, lunch, or dinner? The sausage and egg flower is just right for you! It has only two main ingredients, which are (obviously) Chinese sausage and egg. Both savory and delicious, this recipe will make your mouth water.
Ingredients
- 4 Chinese sausages
- 3-4 eggs
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- Salt
- Pepper
- Sugar
This recipe will make you four servings!
Sausage
First, you cut the Chinese sausage sideways into thin pieces. I’m using 4 sausages for a big plate.
NOTE: I suggest using Chinese sausage, but if you don’t have it, you can use any sausage.
Getting the Pan Ready
Fill the pan until about a little less than 1 inch deep with water. Then, put a metal stand in the water and put a big plate on it.
Plating the Sausages
It’s time for the plating! Sometimes if there is a lot of sausage left, you can make more circles or pile them on the other sausages.
Eggs
Time to get cracking! The amount of eggs you use also depends on how big the plate is and how many people you are serving. I would use 4-3 eggs in a plate with a ten inch diameter because I usually serve for four people.
Seasoning the Sausage and Egg
Sprinkle a little salt, pepper, and sugar over the sausages and eggs. Then pour about a tablespoon of soy sauce over the eggs and a little bit of sesame oil
Steaming the dish
Turn the heat on to medium-high. I like my egg yolks hard so it takes me 30 minutes to steam the entire dish, but if you like them to have more liquid texture, you can cook it for less time as long as the sausages are fully cooked too.
